BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental has extended the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP) to its casual and permanent employees.
NOCHP is a pioneer medical assistance program of the provincial government which aims to integrate strategic and holistic support in collaboration with other health care providers and local government units (LGUs) to augment medical needs of financially incapable Negrenses geared towards genuine public service.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson signed Executive Order (EO) No. 24-48, series of 2024 on November 28 extending NOCHP coverage to casual and permanent employees.
In the previous EO No. 23-03, series of 2023, NOCHP only covers job order and contract of service employees (COS).
Gov. Lacson said he also wants that casual and permanent employees will be provided with health care benefits to recognize their efforts.
All eligible employees whose comprehensive health program memberships remain unutilized by the end of 2024 will be entitled to a health check-up in any of the participating provincial government hospitals, the governor added.
Those entitled to also avail of the membership for the NOCHP are legitimate spouse, legitimate children and legalized dependents 20 years old and below, single; and legitimate and illegitimate children with physical and mental disability, of all ages, of the capitol’s casual and permanent employees./PN
