GUIMARAS – This island province’s Manggahan Festival will make its sweetest return from May 16 to 25, promising a vibrant celebration of Guimaras’ world-famous mangoes, rich culture and thriving tourism.

Alongside the 33rd Provincehood Anniversary, this year’s festivity will again feature the highly anticipated Mango Eat-All-You-Can, where visitors can enjoy unlimited number of mangoes.

Last year, the provincial government prepared 20 tons of sweet and fresh mangoes for the Mango Eat-All-You-Can event.

Moreover, locals and visitors alike may also enjoy diverse festival activities such as the Cultural Street Dance Competition, Agri-Tourism Trade Fair, sports events, music fest, Kabataan Day, food festival, People’s Day, and Manggahan Cultural Competition, among others.

“Tourists and locals alike are encouraged to take part in the festivities, explore the island’s breathtaking destinations, and indulge in the flavors that make Guimaras truly unique,” read part of the provincial government’s Facebook post.

Guimaras is notably known as the “Mango Capital of the Philippines” due to the popularity and abundance of mangoes.

Manggahan Festival was established in 1993, a year after Guimaras became a full-fledged province, to showcase its finest mangoes and growing mango industry./PN
