CAPIZ – A 47-year-old man wanted for qualified rape of a minor and acts of lasciviousness was arrested in Sitio Hansol, Barangay Tabuc, Pontevedra, Capiz.
The suspect identified as alias “Nante,” married and a resident of Barangay Kinalkalan, Balasan, Iloilo, was apprehended through a joint manhunt operation by the Balasan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit Tracker Team, and Pontevedra MPS, around 5:17 p.m. on Monday, March 31.
Authorities carried out the operation through an arrest warrant issued by Judge Ethel P. Demaisip-Sanson of Regional Trial Court (RTC) – Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo for violations of Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 5 of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
The suspect was detained at the Balasan MPS.
No bail bond was recommended for his temporary freedom./PN
