BACOLOD City – Despite having no major revamp implemented at the City Hall, three key offices have been assigned new heads following the assumption of the new city administration on June 30.
Atty. Mark Mayo, the newly appointed City Administrator, confirmed that Mayor Greg Gasataya has designated Atty. Reuben Sabig, a regular employee assigned at the City Legal Office (CLO), as the new head of the Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Department (BTTMD). He replaces former Negros Occidental Provincial Board Member Patrick Lacson.
Meanwhile, Atty. Allyn Luv Dignadice, the Assistant City Administrator, was designated as officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO). She concurrently holds both positions as a regular city government employee.
Under the previous administration of former Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez — now serving as the city’s lone district representative — Ma. Fe Trespuentes, also a regular employee of BENRO, was designated as OIC of the said office.
At the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), Patrick Halili has been appointed as the new head, replacing retired police general Primitivo Tabujara.
“As of now, most departments remain under their existing heads. There has been no major reshuffling,” Mayo said.
Meanwhile, Mayo also disclosed that approximately 200 newly hired job order (JO) personnel have already been deployed under the BTTMD to serve as traffic enforcers, ensuring that the city’s traffic operations remain uninterrupted during the administrative transition.
Additionally, around 60 JO personnel have been deployed across the city’s three major public markets — Burgos, Central, and Libertad — to support daily operations and maintain order./PN
