CAPIZ – Around P2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in a high-impact buy-bust operation conducted by the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s (CPPO) Drug Enforcement Unit on July 8, 2025, at 3:59 p.m. in Barangay Dacuton, Dumarao town.

The operation, carried out in coordination with the Dumarao Municipal Police Station (MPS), was led by CPPO director Colonel Albert D. Tapulao. He underscored the urgency of addressing the growing drug problem in the province.

Four high-value individuals (HVIs), all identified as priority targets on the drug watchlist, were arrested during the operation.

Authorities had been closely monitoring Barangay Dacuton due to persistent reports of drug-related activities, making it a hotspot for law enforcement efforts.

Seized from the suspects were 43 sachets containing approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P2,040,000.00 — a significant blow to the local drug trade.

The suspects are now detained at the Dumarao MPS and will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

This successful operation demonstrates the continuing commitment of the CPPO to combat illegal drugs and ensure public safety.

The local police encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Authorities stressed that community cooperation plays a vital role in the fight against illegal drugs and in creating a safer environment for all./PN
