ILOILO City — Iloilo City is set to mark its 88th Charter Day with a vibrant lineup of events from August 14 to 31, showcasing the city’s culture, heritage, and community spirit.
The festivities kicked off with the Exhibit of Saot Ilonggo Costumes at SM City Iloilo (Aug. 14–19), followed by a Mass Wedding at the Diamond Jubilee Hall (Aug. 15). On August 18, the spotlight turned to the Search for the Most Outstanding City Government Employees and Outstanding Departments at Plaza Libertad Grounds, recognizing exemplary public servants.

Health and social services also take center stage with One Mobile Registration (Aug. 18–19), Kabalaka sa Senior Citizen (Aug. 18–19), and a Medical Mission (Aug. 19). On August 20, the city will launch Iloilo PETS at San Juan Gym and the Purok Kalusugan Program at Brgy. Sooc, Arevalo, capped by the Family Health Fair and Ligtas Buntis Pageant later that day.
Sports, wellness, and tourism are also part of the celebration. On August 21, the city will host Stretching Zumba, Enforcers Ramble, Jog, Hike, and Joyful River Sweep at Iloilo Sunset Boulevard. Shoppers can look forward to the Big Iloilo Sale at all SM branches from Aug. 21–25. Cultural pride will shine during the 2nd Saot Ilonggo Traditional Folkdance Festival on August 21 at the WVSU Cultural Center.
Other highlights include the PESO Job Fair (Aug. 22, Robinsons Place Iloilo), RISE: Celebration of Pet Style and Sophistication (Aug. 23, North Grove Molo), and the Atipan Fair (Aug. 25 across major plazas). That evening, the Mayor’s Dinner and Awarding of Ten Outstanding Ilonggos will be held at Ann Margaret Hall, Diversion 21 Hotel.
On August 26, the city will honor business excellence at the Top Taxpayers Recognition at JR Hall, Diversion 21 Hotel. The youth will take the spotlight on August 29 with NewscasTEENg KinaAdman 2025 at the Penthouse Auditorium, followed by the KABALAKA Expo at Convention Drive, Megaworld (Aug. 29–30).
The month-long celebration will culminate with the Calle Real Night Market from August 29–31./PN
