Roxas City mayor backs flood control: probe, pushes for transparency

CAPIZ – Mayor Ronnie Dadivas of Roxas City has expressed full support for a thorough investigation into alleged anomalies and misuse of funds in the province’s ongoing flood control projects.

As a member of the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) in Western Visayas, Dadivas said he is committed to upholding transparency and accountability in public works, stressing that every peso of taxpayer money must be spent properly.

Local leaders under M4GG, alongside officials in the region, are advocating for a comprehensive review of flood control initiatives. The coalition underscored its mission of promoting transparency, ensuring accountability, and strengthening the efficient implementation of government projects.

“As a member of Mayors for Good Governance, we have pledged to ensure full transparency, accountability, and efficient implementation of all projects. Our manifesto and support for reform extend beyond just flood control projects; they address all issues that significantly impact our population,” Dadivas said.

The M4GG signatories in Western Visayas (2023-2025) include Dadivas; Kalibo mayor Juris Sucro; and Iloilo’s Alimodian mayor Ian Kenneth Alfeche, Barotac Viejo mayor Bongbong Tupas, and Sara mayor Jon Aying.
