CAPIZ – This province has achieved a milestone by bagging the Best in Booth Award in the regional/provincial category at the 36th Philippine Travel Mart, held September 7 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

This marks the second consecutive year that Capiz has brought home the prestigious award, affirming its vibrant culture, heritage, and tourism appeal on the national stage.

This year’s pavilion carried the theme “Panalingsing: The Tree of Sustainable Transformation.” The term panalingsing, a Hiligaynon word meaning “sprouting” or “regrowth,” reflects the province’s vision of promoting a tourism industry rooted in sustainability, inclusivity, and wellness.

Guided by Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, and through the efforts of the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) under Department Head Alphonsus D. Tesoro, Capiz presented an engaging and immersive booth that impressed both visitors and judges.

The pavilion highlighted the province’s culinary specialties, rich traditions, and stunning natural landscapes. It also featured local crafts, traditional music, and interactive activities that allowed guests to experience the heart of Capiz.

With numerous provinces competing at this year’s Philippine Travel Mart, Capiz’s win underscores its growing competitiveness in the national tourism scene. The back-to-back victory is a testament to the collective effort of local artisans, tourism advocates, and government officials in showcasing the best of what Capiz has to offer.

“This achievement is a source of pride for every Capizeño and a strong invitation for travelers to rediscover our natural beauty, cultural heritage, and warm hospitality,” the PTCAO said.

The triumph further cements Capiz’s reputation as a cultural gem and rising tourism hub in the Philippines. Moving forward, the provincial government and its stakeholders remain committed to strengthening attractions and ensuring the sustainable growth of its tourism sector./PN
