ILOILO – The Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan (PPSK) of Iloilo Province, under the leadership of Esara Aldeguer Javier, has earned national distinction after being named one of the Top 10 Most Outstanding SK Federations in the Philippines, solidifying Iloilo’s reputation as a hub for innovative and service-driven youth leadership.
The PPSK Iloilo stood out among nearly 16 finalists from across the country in the Philippine Sangguniang Kabataan Awards 2025, which recognize exemplary youth federations that advance community development, good governance, and civic participation.
“This award is not solely for me but for every member of the PPSK Iloilo and every young Ilonggo who believes in the potential of our youth to make a positive impact in our communities. It reflects our collective hard work, passion, and commitment to service,” Javier said.
Javier’s brand of leadership has steered PPSK Iloilo toward initiatives tackling key youth concerns — including education access, mental health awareness, and job readiness. Collaborations with local government units, non-profit organizations, and stakeholders have further strengthened these efforts, building a more supportive ecosystem for the province’s young citizens.
The recognition also underscores the strong partnership between the provincial federation and the SK municipal presidents from Iloilo’s 42 municipalities and one component city, whose unified approach demonstrates the power of teamwork and effective governance. Together, they have created youth networks for leadership training, community service, and policy dialogue — amplifying the voices of Ilonggo youth in decision-making spaces.
For Javier, the accolade affirms not just the federation’s success but the growing influence of young Ilonggos in shaping inclusive and accountable governance./PN
