AKLAN – A 42-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a courier van in Sitio Bangkerohan, Barangay Linayasan, Altavas town over the weekend.
Police said the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, while the motorcycle driven by Jerald Hilario, a resident of Barangay Lumaynay, Altavas, was on its way to Kalibo town.
Investigation revealed that that the courier van driven by alias “Noli” of Barangay Bagto, Lezo town, tried to avoid the oncoming speeding motorcycle but the latter swerved, causing the collision.
Due to the strong impact, Hilario suffered severe head injuries. He was rushed to the Altavas District Hospital but died while receiving treatment.
Altavas police said an amicable settlement was reached between the victims’ family and the courier van’s company./PN
