SAN CARLOS City, Negros Occidental – Young dancers from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental delivered strong performances at the 3rd JJ Open Latin Dancesport Championship, earning multiple podium finishes and finalist placements across various divisions.
Leading the medal haul was Aldhry Jain, who clinched the championship in Juvenile Duo C. He also placed in the Top 4 of the Juvenile Solo Cha-cha-cha and finished in the Top 5 in both Juvenile Solo Paso Doble and Jive.
Sandrei Gaff Cena and Prince Zion Baldomar reached the Top 6 finals in Samba and Cha-cha-cha, while also advancing to the quarterfinals in Juvenile C and Juvenile A.
JC Immanuel Lorimas and Kesha Joel Jain also had decent showings as they made the Top 6 finals in Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive.
Nina Geacie Nalzaro and Kirk Leigh Kyamko advanced to the quarterfinals in Youth C and Rising Stars. In individual events, Jade Bryan Boque and Jarl Michael Cabuguas reached the quarterfinals in Juvenile Solo C, while Jashend Vennice Lapitan advanced to the semifinals.
Gavin Brylle Quezon qualified for Round 3, and Ancheska Icah Abadies advanced to Round 2 of the Juvenile Solo C division.
In partnered events, Lapitan and Boque finished as semifinalists in Juvenile A, while Quezon and Lapitan reached the quarterfinals in Juvenile C. Jin Yuri Lim and Shin Alizey Apurado also advanced to the quarterfinals in the Junior C category.
Following their successful campaign, the award-winning dancers paid a courtesy call on Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo at his office on December 23, where they formally presented the awards they earned during the championship.
