ANTIQUE — A former education supervisor from the province of Antique has been arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, after being charged with felony offenses involving lewd or indecent acts against a minor, authorities said.
The suspect was identified as Francisco Misajon Jr., 48, a native of Antique and former district supervisor in the town of San Remigio. He was taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on January 6, 2026, and is currently detained at the Clark County Detention Center, where bail was set at USD 200,000.
Police said Misajon is facing charges of lewd or indecent conduct with sexual intent involving a child below 14 years old. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court on January 22.
At the time of the alleged incident, Misajon was employed as a fourth-grade teacher at Innovations International Charter School’s K–6 campus along Oakey Boulevard in central Las Vegas, where he had reportedly been teaching for about 18 months.
Following the allegations, the charter school — which is not affiliated with the Clark County School District — placed Misajon on administrative leave on January 5 and prohibited him from contacting students or school personnel while the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities added that Misajon is also being investigated for allegedly obstructing or discouraging a victim or witness from reporting the incident. However, police did not disclose further details regarding the circumstances or exact location of the alleged offense.
Investigators said they are looking into the possibility of additional victims, citing Misajon’s role as a teacher and his frequent interaction with young students.
Prior to his employment in the United States, Misajon held several supervisory positions in the Department of Education in Antique. From 2021 to 2024, he served as education program supervisor in English at the Schools Division Office of Antique.
