ANTUQUE — A total of 159 cases were filed with the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Antique Provincial Police Office in 2025, slightly lower than the 162 cases reported in 2024.
Among the municipalities, San Jose de Buenavista recorded the highest number of complaints, with 55 cases. This was followed by Hamtic with 18 cases, Sibalom with 16, Culasi with 11, San Remigio and Barbaza with nine each, Sebaste and Pandan with seven each, Laua-an with six, Bugasong and Valderrama with five each, Caluya with four, Libertad, Patnongon, and Tobias Fornier with two each, and one case from Anini-y.
Meanwhile, no cases were reported from Belison and Tibiao. Out of the total cases, 60 were cleared and 96 were solved.
The majority of complaints involved violations of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (Republic Act 9262), which accounted for 43 cases. These were followed by 39 cases under the Special Protection of Children Act (RA 7610), 26 cases of Acts of Lasciviousness, 21 cases of sexual harassment, and 20 cases under RA 11648.
