Antique’s most wanted murder suspect collared

ANTIQUE – Authorities apprehended the No. 1 most wanted person at the provincial level around 2:04 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, in Barangay Cubay North, Bugasong town.

The suspect identified as alias “Rey,” 51, and a resident of the town, was caught by virtue of an arrest warrant for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 64 in Bugasong, Antique, dated January 20, 2026.

The arrest was executed by the Bugasong Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the 2nd Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company and Antique Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit.

“This arrest is a manifestation of the hard work and dedication to duty of our personnel on the ground. It also serves as a warning to other lawless individuals that PRO-6 will not stop until all wanted criminals are arrested and justice is served to their victims,” said Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Josefino Ligan.

The suspect is now under the custody of Bugasong MPS prior turned over to the court concerned. No bail was recommended for his temporary freedom./PN
