Motorcycle hits man crossing street in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – A man was injured after he was accidentally hit by a motorcycle while crossing on Lacson Street, Barangay Mandalagan here.

Alias “Ken,” 46, a resident of Barangay Banao, suffered a leg fracture and was brought to the Corazon Locson Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, police said.

The 25-year-old motorcyclist, identified as alias “Peter” of Barangay 1, sustained minor injuries. He was taken to the Riverside Medical Center.

According to Police Major Elmer Bonilla, head of the Bacolod Traffic Enforcement Unit, while Ken was sleeping in front of a bank on Lacson Street, a security guard reprimanded him.

Still half-awake, the victim suddenly stood up and ran across the street, where he was struck by a motorcycle traveling from the north.

Bonilla added that the victim has intellectual disability./PN
