ILOILO — A major anti-drug operation in Barangay Agdahon, Passi City, Iloilo led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of approximately P3,502,000 worth of suspected shabu on Friday, February 6.
Authorities identified the suspects as aliases “Danny,” 60, tagged as a high-value target, and “Joecel,” 54, classified as a street-level individual. Both were jobless and residents of the component city.
Joint operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Team 2 and Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Passi City Police Station seized a total of six plastic sachets containing around 515 grams of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Passi City Police Station. They are facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), and Section 26 (Conspiracy to Commit a Drug Offense), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), commended the units for the successful drug bust.
“The seizure of a large quantity of illegal drugs is a clear manifestation of the dedication of our personnel to eliminate the menace of illegal drugs in Western Visayas. We assure the public that your Western Visayas police will continue to do our best to achieve a drug-free community for the sake of future generations,” Ligan added./PN
