BACOLOD City — Two men were injured in a shooting incident along Gatuslao Street in front of a mall in Barangay 9 here.
Police identified the victims by the alias “Christian,” 18, single and unemployed, a resident of Purok Nangka, Barangay 6, Bacolod City, and alias “Nognog.”
According to a report from Police Station 2 of the Bacolod City Police Office, the incident occurred at around 10:15 p.m. on February 12.
Initial investigation showed that the victims were riding a motorcycle when unidentified suspects, also on board a motorcycle, opened fire on them. The assailants reportedly used an undetermined caliber of firearm.
Both victims sustained gunshot wounds to various parts of their bodies and were immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.
Police said the suspects fled in an unknown direction following the attack.
Authorities also reported that two caliber .38 revolvers were recovered from the victims’ possession at the scene.
As of press time, hot pursuit operations were ongoing for the identification and arrest of the suspects. Police were continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting./PN
