ILOILO — Police apprehended a high-value individual (HVI) and seized approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P680,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mina East, Mina, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified by the alias “Noynoy,” a 31-year-old resident of the town’s Barangay Tolarucan, was caught at 5:19 p.m. on February 13 by operatives of the Mina Municipal Police Station (MPS) after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer.
Authorities confiscated three additional plastic sachets of the illegal substance, along with various drug paraphernalia.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), commended the team for the successful operation.
“We will not allow drug personalities to endanger our communities,” he stated. “PRO-6 remains steadfast in its commitment to rid Western Visayas of illegal drugs through aggressive operations and strong community partnerships.”
The suspect is currently in police custody. Charges have been filed for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
