They may have long buried the hatchet, but Heart Evangelista and Angelica Panganiban recently looked back at the time when they had a misunderstanding because they disagreed with each other’s personal choices.
The trip down memory lane took place on the March 28 episode of “Heart World” season two, though the reason for the former besties’ falling-out was not exactly disclosed.
“I think sa mga choices naman talaga natin sa buhay, and ‘yun ‘yung ginusto nating panindigan,” Panganiban said.
Evangelista agreed, saying that she and the actress would be judgmental of each other even from afar.
“Kahit from afar, [iniisip nating] sigurado ka? Happy ka diyan? T’as parang defensive ka, defensive ako, hanggang sa hindi na kami nag-usap,” she said.
Despite their semi-public spat, Panganiban said they never harbored any hatred toward each other and hoped to patch up their friendship. She added that she initially struggled before eventually reaching out to Evangelista through text.
“Of course, wala kaming nararamdaman na [galit] sa isa’t isa. Kindness pa rin ang nararamdaman niyo. Gusto mong yakapin ang tao, ‘yung tipong saan ko siya pupuntahan. Nag-struggle ako na hanggang gabi, iniisip ko kung ime-message ko ba siya tapos hindi ko alam if ‘yun ang number niya,” she recalled.
“Ang sarap sa feeling after mapadala ang message tapos okay na ‘yun. Bahala na ‘yun, bahala ang universe, bahala na si Lord sa mga susunod na pwede pang mangyari,” she continued.
Evangelista said that Panganiban will always be her “first love,” noting the memories they shared while growing up.
“Whatever it was, you will always be my pal. There’s nothing wrong that you can do kasi gan’un kita kamahal. Masyadong solid ang core memories ko sa’yo. First love mo can be a sister or a friend, first love kita. Ang wish ko para sa’yo is sana ma-enjoy mo ang time mo with your daughter, though it’s time,” she said, showing support for Panganiban’s showbiz comeback.
Evangelista and Panganiban became close after working together on the 1999 youth series “G-mik!”, which launched several celebrities. The Kapuso star recently reunited with her ex-boyfriend and onscreen partner John Prats as well.
Aside from her Fashion Week stints and “Heart World,” the fashion influencer recently dabbled in jewelry design, upcycling bracelets and necklaces she doesn’t wear often.
