ILOILO City — The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has seized an estimated P45 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 250 suspects in just 100 days, underscoring an intensified anti-drug and law enforcement campaign under Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla.
From January 13 to April 22, ICPO operatives confiscated a total of 6,575.74 grams of suspected shabu in a series of operations across the city. The crackdown led to the arrest of 250 drug personalities, including 73 high-value individuals (HVIs), 174 street-level individuals (SLIs), and three persons with standing warrants.
Beyond anti-drug operations, police also stepped up efforts against fugitives, resulting in the arrest of 118 wanted persons through 129 operations. Of these, 16 were charged with heinous crimes, while 102 were linked to lesser offenses.
Authorities likewise intensified their campaign against loose firearms and explosives, conducting 126 operations that resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals and the recovery of 127 firearms and explosives. Of the recovered items, 40 were deposited, 73 were voluntarily surrendered, and 14 were confiscated during police operations, along with 14 explosives.
In the fight against illegal gambling, ICPO conducted 126 operations that led to the arrest of 223 individuals and the confiscation of P64,095 in bet money.
Police also recorded 15,899 apprehensions for violations of city ordinances, with corresponding fines and penalties imposed.
Parilla said the accomplishments in his first 100 days reflect gains not only in law enforcement but also in public safety, administration, and community engagement.
“These accomplishments would not be realized without the help and efforts of our Station commanders and their men,” Parilla said.
The ICPO also earned back-to-back championships in the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) competition at Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), highlighting its performance in management, policing standards, and operational readiness.
At the national level, the office was recognized as the Best City Police Office during the 24th Police Service Anniversary.
Parilla also pushed for community-based initiatives, including Project TATAP, which promotes environmental protection, cleanliness, and sustainability among police personnel and communities.
To strengthen road safety and nighttime visibility, ICPO launched Project BLINKER (Beacon Light of Integrity during Nightwatch: Keeping Enforcement and Response), aimed at improving public security.
The city police office also ensured the peaceful conduct of major events, including the Dinagyang Festival, Jaro fiesta, Iloilo-Guimaras Paraw Regatta, ASEAN meetings, and Holy Week observances, further reinforcing its role in maintaining peace and order in Iloilo City./PN
