ILOILO — A drug surrenderee tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Barangay Lopez Jaena, Dumangas, Iloilo.

The suspect, identified only by his alias “Boy,” 59, married, and a resident of the town’s Barangay Tabucan, was apprehended after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover police operative on May 25.

Recovered from the suspect were six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 50 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P340,000, along with marked money and other non-drug evidence.

Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño, acting regional director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), commended the operating units for the successful anti-drug operation.

“This accomplishment reflects the firm resolve of PRO-6 to sustain relentless, intelligence-driven, and community-supported operations against illegal drugs,” Tuaño said.

The arrested suspect was detained at the Dumangas MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
