JANICE de Belen said she immediately called her daughter, Inah de Belen, following the latter’s social media feud with vlogger Rosmar Tan, but chose not to further involve herself in the controversy.
She was asked about the issue during a recent appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” where she explained that she allowed her daughter to reflect on the incident herself.
“I cannot get involved; I’m a mom. I called her, I immediately told her what was wrong, tapos quiet na ako, basta nasabi ko na (at) quiet na ako kasi I have to leave you to think about it. Ikaw na ‘yan, and when we saw each other after ko siya sinabihan, I never said anything, I did not talk to her about the issue,” Janice said.
The seasoned actress added that she briefly reminded Inah about “being careful” once the issue had already died down.
“And when it’s over, recently lang, sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Oh see, tapos na, pwede ba, please? Ingat din! Oh ‘di ba?’ Hindi na ako nagbibigay ng mahabang sermon, maikli na lang,” she said with a laugh.
The controversy began last month after Inah reacted to a social media user who compared her to Tan. Inah initially said she did not know who Tan was before later posting, “Na research ko na siya, plssss don’t associate me with her, ew.”
Tan, whose real name is Rosemarie Tan-Pamulaklakin, subsequently responded through her own social media platforms, expressing disappointment over Estrada’s remarks.

Meanwhile, during the same interview, Janice was also asked whether she opposed Inah’s live-in arrangement with actor Jake Vargas.
“I wasn’t against the relationship kasi hindi naman ako ang makakasama nila. Anong karapatan kong maging against? I’m no saint; alam kong kontra din ‘yung nanay ko o kontra din ‘yung tatay ko (sa mga nakarelasyon noon). I know how it feels for them. My point at that time was let’s do it right, then okay naman sila,” she said.
Janice also expressed her approval of her other daughter Kaila Estrada’s relationship with Daniel Padilla, saying that she’s happy as long as her child is happy.
