ILOILO — Authorities arrested Dumangas, Iloilo’s No. 2 most wanted person during a manhunt operation conducted in Brgy. Tabucan, Dumangas, Iloilo at around 4:55 p.m. on June 10, 2026.
The suspect, identified by police as alias “Bimbim,” 32, a construction worker and resident of Dumangas, Iloilo, was apprehended by virtue of warrants of arrest for attempted murder and frustrated murder, both allegedly involving the use of unlicensed firearms.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station, Iloilo Police Provincial Office–Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), IPPO Special Operations Group (SOG), and the Highway Patrol Group–Region 6, by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by RTC Branch 68 in Dumangas dated June 3, 2026.
Court records showed that bail was set at P120,000 for the attempted murder case and P200,000 for the frustrated murder case for the suspect’s provisional liberty.
Police Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño, acting regional director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6), commended the operating units for the successful arrest, stressing the importance of sustained manhunt operations and inter-unit coordination.
“This arrest sends a clear message that no wanted person can hide from the law in Western Visayas. Through sustained manhunt operations and inter-unit coordination, we will continue to locate and arrest fugitives to ensure that justice is served,” Tuaño said.
He also urged the public to remain vigilant and support law enforcement efforts by reporting information that may lead to the arrest of other wanted persons still at large.
“We encourage the public to cooperate with authorities and provide information that may help bring fugitives before the courts. To those with pending warrants, we urge you to surrender and allow the justice system to take its course,” he added.
The arrested suspect is currently under the custody of Dumangas Municipal Police Station for proper disposition./PN
