ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) is showing illegal drug surrenderees films related to drugs.
Through the films, the IPPO hopes to instill in their minds the adverse effects of drug use.
It launched the film-showing program in its headquarters in Camp Francisco Sumagaysay in Santa Barbara, Iloilo on Monday.
The program targets the around 6,500 self-confessed users and suspected pushers in Iloilo province who turned themselves in to the police as a result of Oplan Tokhang.
Part of the film selection is “Taghoy sa Dilim,” a feature documentary narrating theways drugs can destroy the lives of addicts and their families.
Municipal police stations have already scheduled film showings in their respective towns.
Yesterday, the local government of Zarraga held a film showing at the municipal covered gym.
Around 201 people — surrenderees and other stakeholders — attended.
The IPPO said the program is part of its antidrug campaign./PN
