ILOILO City – A couple from Barangay Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo district, was looking for their vehicle.
Jeffrey and Rosalina Casiano, 43 and 46 years old, respectively, discovered their Ford Ranger had been mortgaged to Ryan Zerrudo of Barangay Our Lady of Lourdes, Jaro district.
Efren Cabanda, 41, of Barangay Cubay, Jaro, borrowed their vehicle on Aug. 12.
Cabanda, however, failed to return it the following day as promised, the couple told the Jaro police on Sept. 21.
The couple looked for him in Barangay Desamparados, Jaro, where he lives.
That was when they found out that Cabanda mortgaged the vehicle to Zerrudo.
Zerrudo then returned the Ford Ranger to the couple at the Jaro police station./PN
