ILOILO City – A suspected bet solicitor for the illegal numbers game bookies was arrested in Barangay Poblacion South, Oton, Iloilo.
The 53-year-old Rizaldy Barranco was taken to the Oton police station on Sept. 30.
Around 7:30 p.m., the police caught Barranco soliciting bets from Barangay Poblacion South residents.
Cops recovered from Barranco P290 in various denominations, pieces of papers and pen.
He faces a charge for violating Republic Act 9287 that outlaws illegal gambling.
As an illegal gambling collector or agent, Barranco faces “from eight years and one day to 10 years” of imprisonment if found guilty by the court./PN
