ILOILO City – A five-year-old boy who disappeared in Barangay Bagacay, Pototan, Iloilo was found dead in Barangay Tubigan, Zarraga town.
The five-year-old Lourd Edward Palmes was last seen alive on Sept. 28 walking on a bridge in Barangay Bagacay. He failed to return home in adjacent Barangay Lopez Jaena. Not a few believed he drowned.
Around 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 29, the 27-year-old Jefferson Flores of Barangay Tubigan, Zarraga spotted a dead boy in the river. He alerted the coastguard and police, which in turn contacted neighboring police stations, including that of Pototan.
Lourdes Azucenas Palmes who had been searching for her son was informed, too, and she proceeded to Zarraga. The boy was her son, still wearing his red shirt and black pair of shorts./PN
