BACOLOD City – A pickup hit a man crossing the four-lane national highway in Purok Cosmos, Barangay Calumangan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The 27-year-old Randy Jamandre died while being rushed to the Bago City Hospital around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, according to Superintendent David Cachumbo, Bago City police chief.
Jamandre, who was thrown several meters away from the spot where he was hit, died of severe head and body injuries, said Cachumbo.
From what the Bago City police so far gathered, Jamandre was drunk.
The pickup that hit Jamandre was driven by Rodelio Juele of Barangay Bulata, Cauayan, Negros Occidental. Police said Juele was bound for Sipalay City from Bacolod City.
Juele was detained at the Bago City police station as of this writing./PN
