ILOILO – A Ceres bus fell on its side in Barangay Poblacion A, Dueñas town. Three passengers were injured.
Sunday afternoon, the following were rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City:
* Von Edward Porras, 30, of Barangay, Cubay, San Enrique town
* Joylyn Mantiquilla, 30, of Barangay Capuling, Dueñas, and
* Arturo Padillo, 60, of Barangay Mabalud, Pototan.
The bus had a total of 19 passengers. It was bound for Iloilo City when, according to 41-year-old bus driver Joenel Pilarco, something went wrong with the engine.
Pilarco told the Dueñas police he lost control of the bus.
A resident of Barangay Bitaogan, Passi City, Pilarco was detained at the Dueñas police station.
According to Police Officer 3 Jerome Emplasta of Dueñas, Pilarco faces a charge of reckless imprudence resulting to physical injuries./PN
