BACOLOD City – Several patients and folks were complaining about the allegedly harsh treatment they get from the staff of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH).
Task Force Crusaders, a body formed by the Office of the Solicitor General, gathered the complaints and sent them to Department of Health (DOH) secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial.
National Deputy Commander John Chiong said they hope the DOH acts on the complaints, some of which were already aired via media interviews and included the alleged lack of medicines.
In some cases, deaths were attributed to the staff’s alleged “lack of concern and sympathy” toward the patients, and the concerned folks have resorted to legal actions, said Chiong, a Bacolodnon.
In one of the complaints, a CLMMRH nurse was accused of yelling at a patient and their watcher, Chiong said.
The complainant mentioned wanting Task Force Crusaders to report the medical staff to President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Isugid ko na lang ni sa Task Force Crusaders ini nga nars sa provincial (regional) hospital sa Bacolod,” the complainant was quoted in the letter the task force sent to the Health department.
“Dr. Drilon, i-CCTV imo mga nars kag staff,” the complainant said, addressing the chief of hospital, Dr. Julius Drilon.
Tratoha niyo man sila nga tawo, indi sapat,” said the complainant.
Chiong hopes the DOH makes sure the CLMMRH responds to this matter.
Modern hospital facilities and services are of no use if the patients are not treated well, he said.
Drilon was furnished a copy of the letter. He told Panay News in a text message he cannot comment until he has read the letter./PN
