ILOILO City – A motorcycle hit an abandoned dump truck on the circumferential road in Barangay Jibao-an, Pavia, Iloilo on Tuesday night. The motorcycle driver died.
Forty-two-year-old Federico Sinibalo was a resident of Salazar Street, San Miguel, Iloilo. He died of severe head injuries while being rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center.
Sinibalo was returning to San Miguel from Leganes town when he hit the dump truck (temporary plate number 12011).
The truck was abandoned in an unlighted portion of the circumferential road, police said.
The Pavia police traced the truck’s ownership to Benjamin Tantia III of Oton, Iloilo.
The truck was apparently not working and had been in the area for three days prior to Tuesday’s accident around 8:30 p.m., according to Glicerio Arostique who was a frequent passer in the area.
“Madalom katama kay wala street light,” said Arostique. He was a driver, too./PN
