ILOILO City – The cooperative of the Iloilo provincial capitol was ransacked.
The burglary was discovered by the cooperative’s Pequito Hector Sadiang Abay around 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 25.
The central processing unit (CPU) of a desktop computer and P1,000 cash were stolen, according to Senior Inspector Aldrin Lamera of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Police Station 1.
There were four robbers, initial police investigation showed. Two entered the cooperative through the back door. The other two served as lookouts outside.
There was a closed-circuit television monitor in the building but the front desk personnel, Michelle Ibañez, did not notice anything unusual either late Thursday night or before dawn on Friday.
A security guard was also on duty, Rino Castillo, but he, too, was not able to see the robbers.
“We are investigating this incident. We wonder why the front desk officer and the guard on duty did not notice anything,” said Lamera.
