ILOILO City – The police has launched a manhunt against a farmer who killed his son in Barangay Pamuringao, Cabatuan, Iloilo.

The 57-year-old Cirilo Alemani of Barangay Tupol, Cabatuan fled after stabbing 19-year-old son Keith Marvin around 8:20 p.m. on Sunday.

Keith Marvin died of two stab wounds on the chest and right armpit at the Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital, also in Cabatuan.

The stabbing happened in front of a store where Keith Marvin was binge drinking with friends.

According to Senior Inspector Engelbert Banquillo, Cabatuan police chief, Alemani came over and hit his son.

The surprised Keith Marvin blurted out, “Nga-a pakahuy-an mo gid ko sa mga friends ko haw?” according to Banquillo, citing statements from the victim’s pals.

“The two engaged each other until the victim dropped on the ground,” said the police chief.

Keith Marvin was a second year Marine Engineering student at the Western Institute and Technology.

Responding policemen recovered a 10-inch knife from the crime scene./PN
