ILOILO City – A drummer for Tribu Paghidaet had been stabbed on Javellana Street, Jaro district.
The 15-year-old student of La Paz National High School sustained a stab wound on his side.
Robert (not his real name) was taken to West Visayas State University Medical Center and remains confined there as of this writing.
He and several of his classmates were walking on Javellana Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 after practice when the stabbing happened. They were heading to a store in La Paz to eat.
Seven youngsters — alleged members of the Taylor Gang — approached Robert. The gang’s leader, Romer Castor, attacked him, police said.
In light of the incident, the city police director directed all station chiefs to increase visibility at night, especially near schools where tribes participating in the Dinagyang Festival in January are already practicing.
“Busy na ngayon ang mga tribu sa practice, so dapat may mga pulis sa mga schools,” said Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso./PN
