ILOILO City – Two drug dependents who underwent two months of free rehabilitation in Camp Delgado, the headquarters of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), failed their drug tests.
For flunking the tests, the two were not allowed to “graduate” on Tuesday, said Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, PRO-6 spokesperson.
Sixty-three others, on the other hand, successfully completed the rehabilitation program. They were from Jaro, Arevalo and City Proper districts and the second batch of drug dependents served by the PRO-6 program.
Gorero declined to identify the two drug dependents. He said they will be included in the third batch of rehabilitation clients.
While undergoing rehabilitation, clients of the PRO-6 drug rehabilitation program are subjected to drug tests thrice – at the start of the program, halfway through the program, and right before their scheduled graduation from the program.
“These two were the first clients of the PRO-6 drug rehabilitation program to fail the test,” lamented Gorero.
The program started September this year. It has so far produced 105 “graduates.”
On Oct. 31, 42 clients successfully completed the program.
