ILOILO City – Fire partially damaged a house in Zone 3, Barangay Bo. Obrero, Lapuz district.

The fire started at the room of couple Christian and Apple Bigayan, according to Fire Officer 2 Denmark Macoco of the Bureau of Fire Protection.

The Bigayan house was two-storey high and made of mixed materials under corrugated galvanized iron sheet roofing.

Electrical short circuit caused the fire, according to the fire bureau.

The Bigayan couple was not at home when the fire struck. It was the neighbors who alerted the authorities.

Responding firemen put out the fire around 7:38 p.m., an hour after it started around 6:33 p.m. on Jan. 16.

The damage was estimated to have reached P100 thousand./PN
