BACOLOD City – A construction worker drowned in Hacienda Bayabas, Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The 19-year-old Randy Cañete was a resident of Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
Cañete and Ricardo Geturiagao Jr., 32, also of Barangay Mandalagan, were looking for local shellfish kayog at a river at the time.
Cañete’s body was retrieved around 7 a.m. yesterday, police said.
The victim was taken to the Cadiz District Hospital but was declared “dead on arrival.”/PN
