KALIBO, Aklan – New firefighters in Western Visayas will be hired beginning next month.
Starting Feb. 1 the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 6 will start taking in applicants for Fire Officers 1, Regional Director Lindy Lauzon said.
An applicant must be a Filipino citizen, a bachelor’s degree holder, eligible for civil service (passer of Board exams or eligible under Republic Act 1080/Presidential Decree 907), and between 21 and 30 years old.
Male applicants should be at least 5 feet, 4 inches (1.62 meters) tall, while female applicants should be at least 5 feet, 2 inches (1.57 meters).
Applicants are urged to submit their requirements and application folder to municipal and city fire stations in Region 6.
Qualified applicants must submit personally their application folder to BFP Region 6 in Iloilo City with the following:
* endorsement from the provincial fire marshal
* application letter addressed to the BFP regional director
* personal data sheet
* eligibilities/report of rating
* transcript of records
* diploma
* birth certificate
* marriage contract (if married)
* medical certificate issued by a government hospital or health unit
* barangay, police, prosecutor, municipal trial court, regional trial court, and National Bureau of Investigation clearances
The BFP also prefers applicants with a professional driver’s license (Restrictions 2 and 3) and with National Certificate III in driving issued by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
