BACOLOD City – Burglars barged into the house of a dead man in Purok Rosal, Barangay Singcang-Airport.

They took a P3,000 air gun, P10,000 cash, assorted grocery items worth P1,000, and a katana worth P1,500, police records showed.

Police said the suspects gained entry by destroying the front door of a variety store on Feb. 3.

Maesen Mondia, daughter of the late Roland Alvarez who was now living in the house, told the police the burglars exited through a second-floor window and into the roof of a neighboring house.

Bystanders chased and caught one of the suspects, 22-year-old Jay Lansa of Barangay 16, and turned him over to Police Station 8.

Police investigation showed the suspects, who also included a certain “Toto,” 21, of Barangay 35, were friends of Alvarez’s minor grandson./PN
