ILOILO City – A village watchman (tanod) of Pabriaga, Sara, Iloilo is on the run. Policemen are hunting him.
Florentino Pama Jr., 37, shot to death Jimmy Alegre who stabbed barangay tanod Jonel Pabriaga on Feb. 19.
Alegre died of gunshot wounds on the arms and chest. He was reportedly drunk when he attacked Pabriaga.
Pabriaga survived the stabbing but was confined at the Sara District Hospital.
The stabbing of Pabriaga and shooting of Alegre happened within minutes.
According to Police Officer 2 Francis John Aricaya of Sara, Alegre and Pabriaga had a heated argument during a drinking binge around 12:10 a.m.
Alegre stabbed Pabriaga with a knife.
Pama, who was a few meters away from the two men, shot Alegre using a 12-gauge shot gun./PN
