BACOLOD City – Two motorcycle riders were injured when a cargo truck hit them on a national highway in Barangay Alicante, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The truck, loaded with sugarcane, sped away, police said.
Pedro Bantillo Francisco Jr., 40, of Hacienda Chambery, Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City, and Mart Grace Elquizer, 20, of Bacolod City were bound for this capital city when the crash happened around 12:50 a.m. Monday.
They were rushed to the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, said Senior Inspector Bonifacio Aral, EB Magalona police chief.
Francisco’s left leg was amputated.
Police were still trying to identify the cargo truck as of this writing./PN
