ILOILO City – Thanks to her menstrual period, a 26-year-old masseuse saved herself from a man who tried to rape her in Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao district.

Victim Gina (not her real name), who lives in said place and works in a massage parlor in Iloilo City, told the police that an unidentified man had tried to rape her on Saturday.

She was walking home around 3:30 a.m. when a gray Pajero suddenly stopped in front of her.

An unidentified man then got out and pushed her to the car. He hit her on her mouth and threatened to harm her should she shout for help. He ordered her to undress.

To this, she replied that she was menstruating while taking off her blouse.

And so instead of raping her, he proposed that she perform oral sex on him.

Gina said the man also tried to rob her but changed her mind upon knowing that all she had was P150.

The frustrated rapist then let go of her on the road and sped away.

The Mandurriao police station under Chief Inspector Lea Rose Peña is investigating the case./PN
