ILOILO – A 14-year-old boy drowned in the Aganan River in Barangay Sto. Niño, San Miguel on Saturday, June 17.
Police Major Richard Lao, chief of the San Miguel Police Station (MPS), told Panay News the boy went swimming with his cousins and siblings.
“Ang minor upod ang mga pakaisa kag manghod niya naligo sila aga pa. Sang palanyaga na, nagpuli sila, siya isa nagpabilin kag wala na kabutwa,” said Lao.
At about 3:45 p.m., three young men found the victim floating and immediately called for help.
The San Miguel Emergency Response sent the minor to the San Miguel Rural Health Center, where he was declared “dead on arrival.”
The San Miguel MPS investigated the incident while the boy’s body was autopsied./PN
