
BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated about P5.7 million worth of suspected shabu in separate antidrug operations.
At around 1:56 a.m. yesterday, June 18, Police Station 8, led by Captain Melvin Mercado, collared Rene Lapera Jr., 26, in Barangay Pahanocoy.
More or less 800 grams of suspected shabu were recovered, valued at P5.4 million.
Mercado said the suspect’s name came out during an investigation of other arrested drug suspects.
On June 16, at around 11:25 p.m., suspect Bryan Alvarez, 41, of Barangay Singcang-Airport was busted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit in cooperation with Police Station 8.
About 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000 were confiscated from Alvarez.
Lapera and Alvarez were both tagged as high-value drug suspects. Both are being held at Police Station 8, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
