MIAMI Heat center Bam Adebayo delivered a historic performance to lead his team to a 150-129 victory over the Washington Wizards in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Tuesday night (Wednesday in the Philippines) in Miami, Florida.
Adebayo finished the match with 83 points, surpassing the late Kobe Bryant’s 81-point performance for the Los Angeles Lakers in January 2006 as the Heat improved to a 36-29 record.
Only Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary 100-point game for the Philadelphia Warriors on March 2, 1962 remains ahead of Adebayo’s scoring feat, which is also a franchise record.
The Heat big man set the tone early, erupting for 31 points in the first quarter as Miami took control of the game. He finished the first half with 43 points, already surpassing his previous career-high of 41 points.
Adebayo finished the night shooting 20-of-43 from the field and went 7-of-22 from three-point range. He also set an NBA record for free throw attempts, converting 36 of his 43 tries from the line.
Simone Fontecchio added 18 markers, including three outside conversions, while Davion Mitchell and Pelle Larsson contributed 12 and 10 markers, respectively, for the Heat.
Alex Sarr top-scored for the Wizards with 28 points, Will Riley added 22 markers, Tre Johnson and Jalen Hardy had 17 points apiece, while Bub Carrington and Bilal Coulibaly had 12 and 10, respectively.
At Houston, Kevin Durant scored 29 points, with 22 coming in the first half, and Amen Thompson chipped in 23 points as the Rockets defeated Toronto Raptors 113-99.
Jabari Smith Jr. also added 23 points for the Rockets, who pulled into a tie for third place in the Western Conference standings. Alperen Sengun scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
