BACOLOD City – Police Officer 1 Christian Godfrey Plantinos is facing an administrative charge before the Police Regional Office 18 (PRO-18).
Plantinos, who allegedly harassed a female anti-Marcos protester on social media, was accused of conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
The Investigation and Detection Management Division found probable cause to file the charge before the Discipline Law and Order Section, said Chief Inspector Dianne Grace Catedral, PRO-18 spokesperson.
Plantinos earned the ire of netizens after posting on Facebook a lewd comment on Anna Nicole de Castro, a protester pictured in a rally after the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
“Dalawa tayo i-threesome ta siya hahaha,” Plantinos wrote. His Facebook account (Christian Raizo Plantinos) has since been deactivated.
Platinos was replying to another comment by user “IsaBuhay Dugongbughaw” that stated, “Miss skin knalang…Ipapatikim ko sayo ang marshall law sa kama…liligaya ka pa at magugustuhan mo pa at mararanasan mo kung ano ang marshall law sa kama…yummy chika pepet…nyahaha.”
In light of the controversy, the police noncommissioned officer was sacked from his post at Police Station 5 on Nov. 23 and reassigned at the Public Safety Company of the Bacolod City Police Office.
During the pre-charge investigation, the Investigation and Detection Management Division found Plantinos’ explanations “very shallow and very lame” and “unjustifiable,” Catedral said.
According to Plantinos, a friend who borrowed his smartphone may have posted the comment using his Facebook account.
Plantinos will be made to explain again during the Discipline Law and Order Section proceedings, said Catedral.
Catedral reminded all Negros Island police officers not to make political comments on social media and to remain neutral on political matters.
She said their higher headquarters directed them to refrain from posting personal opinion on political matters, especially while using the official social media accounts of police units and offices.
Earlier Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said Platinos will be subjected to another neuropsychiatric test — and will be dismissed from the service if he fails.
“Bakit naging pulis iyon? Baka hindi nakapasa sa neuropsychiatric exam iyon,” the Philippine National Police chief told a news conference at Camp Crame, the national police headquarters, on Nov. 22.
“Bakit ganoon ang utak noong pulis na iyon? Ipa-neuro ko ulit. Kapag bumagsak, tanggal sa serbisyo,” he stressed.
Dela Rosa condemned the officer for making the perverted comment.
“Dapat ipakita mo na maginoo ka, mabait, matino, at kagalang-galang, hindi iyong bastos ka na pulis,” he stressed./PN
