BACOLOD City – Charged with rape, a man was arrested in Purok 9, Barangay Poblacion, Cauayan, Negros Occidental after 12 years of hiding.
Rammy Mendrez, 38, was a resident of the town’s Barangay Tiling.
He was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 4 p.m. on June 2.
Judge Henry Arles of Regional Trial Court, Branch 61 in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental issued the arrest warrant on Feb. 16, 2009 yet.
The suspect was detained at the Cauayan police station.
No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty./PN
