ILOILO City – To display the region’s organic products, the 4th Regional Organic Agriculture Congress – Agricultural Trade Fair and Exhibits was held from Nov. 3 to 4 at Sol Y Mar Beach Resort and Eco Farm in Tigbauan town, Iloilo.
Twenty-four organic producers from the five provinces of Western Visayas joined the event, which also aimed to regionalize organic agriculture practices and enable farmers to gain better access to domestic and global markets.
Miag-ao town in Iloilo showcased black rice, baye-baye and papaya, while Tigbauan town displayed their cassava and banana chips and peanut butter. Aklan, meanwhile, showcased handwoven products and local delicacies while Capiz province displayed fresh organic fruits and vegetables. Guimaras also joined with their world-class mangoes.
