Aklan cops conduct unity walk for fair, honest polls

KALIBO, Aklan – Police authorities initiated a unity walk for credible, free, orderly, and peaceful May mid-term polls in the province.

The Aklan Police Provincial Office and the Kalibo police station led the peace covenant activity dubbed as “Ugnayan ng Simbahan at Pulis (USAP) para sa Pilipinas” at the Kalibo Magsaysay Park on April 3.

The activity, in collaboration with the Commission on Elections, Armed Forces of the Philippines and religious sectors in Aklan, is a campaigning against vote-buying and election violence.

The signing of an electoral pledge and covenant review was also lunched during the event.

USAP para sa Pilipinas is a nationwide initiative of Philippine National Police (PNP) and other government agencies under the four-point agenda of PNP Chief Police General Oscar Albayalde to build better rapport with Church leaders. (With a report form Akean Forum/PN)
