Aklan to hold ‘Paskwahan sa Kapitolyo’ today

BORACAY – The Aklan provincial government and the Aklan Culture and Arts Foundation, Inc. will hold the “Paskwahan sa Kapitolyo” today.  

Activities included in the celebration are the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting, chorale competition, performances and live music, fireworks display, food booths, and the display of tree lights decorated around Goding Ramos Park.

Former Ibajay mayor Ma. Lourdes Miraflores and former Cong. Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo will lead the blessing and ribbon-cutting rites of the “Kaon Ta-Food Court” around 4 p.m. with food booths serving local dishes.

Meanwhile, Gov. Florencio Miraflores of Aklan, Vice Gov. Reynaldo Quimpo and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will lead the switching-on ceremony of this year’s Christmas tree and lights around 6 p.m. with fireworks display.

Paskua sa Malinao, Pamulad Isda of Kalibo Pilot Elementary School, Rigatones of Aklan State University-College of Industrial Technology, and Jotabal of Aklan Catholic College will also give their performances while local government agencies have prepared the traditional Christmas carols. 

The 24K band will cap the day with holiday favorites at the Goding Ramos Park.(With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
